Maryville University Pawprint, the independent student newspaper of Maryville University of St. Louis, Missouri has delivered news to our community since 2004. For over a decade, Maryville students, faculty and staff have enjoyed the news of Pawprint, and we are honored to serve the Maryville University community.
Founded in 2004, Maryville Pawprint serves as a journalistic resource providing the latest and developing news, stories, arts and entertainment, opinion and sports stories for the University. Our readers include Marvyille University students, faculty, staff and surrounding communities. The Maryville Pawprint is an online only, student-run newspaper published weekly on Tuesdays during the school year.
Pawprint is devoted to upholding a quality of journalistic and academic excellence. Led under Dr. Dustin York, an assistant professor of communication at Maryville University, students learn how to share news and interest stories for the University in an intriguing fashion while upholding the upmost journalistic ethics. The newspaper staff grow their abilities to write in an effective style, produce quality content, navigate digital media, produce broadcasts, think strategically and hold a motivated work ethic. Recently Saints Talk, a sports podcast, was developed under Pawprint along with an increased involvement in video production. While many Communication majors are on staff, Maryville students from any major are welcome to join the team. Pawprint staff have gone on to work at public relations agencies such as HLK and Weber Shandwick, the St. Louis Cardinals, Bonfyre, Town & Style, Ronald McDonald House and more.
Our dedicated readership is what makes our newspaper amazing. We love writing news for you, and always want to hear from you. We are always looking for talented members to join our team.
